Introduction
Physiotherapy is a profession concerned with the assessment, maintenance, and restoration of the physical function and performance of the body. Physiotherapy is useful in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of injuries and diseased processes like conditions including sports injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological & respiratory diseases, postural problems, rehabilitation following various surgeries and various geriatric and gynecological conditions. When used in conjugation with surgical treatment, it provides a speedy and complication-free return to normal activity.
The future holds bright prospects for physiotherapists as the number of people with such problems is increasing day by day at an alarming rate owing to the changing lifestyle of the people in cities and towns. With more and more people falling prey to the change, the lack of physical activity and an overwhelming reliance on technology has been playing spoilsport with their health. This in turn transcends into a physical nightmare for such people that the physiotherapist can get them rid of.
After completion of courses the students get excellent job opportunities in both Academic and clinical fields in various super specialty hospitals, educational institutes, sports complexes, rehabilitation centers, NGO’s, clinical research centers etc. throughout the country and abroad.
